Mouth Patterns
Mouth patterns (mouthing) often accompany signs to add context or differentiate similar signs:
- Silent Mouthing: Mimicking the spoken word without vocalising it.
- Accompanying Sounds: Some signs include slight vocal sounds to enhance the meaning.
- Specific Shapes: Mouth shapes can indicate different meanings, such as pursing the lips for “small” or opening wide for “large”.
