Book a BSL Interpreter

Interpreter Today is a place to book a BSL interpreter for your event. This site is also an online platform where I am documenting my journey as I explore both Spanish language and culture.

I decided to write a blog with the aim of gradually building a language and cultural portal. Here, you will discover valuable resources and supportive materials that I utilise to aid my learning. I trust you will find materials here too to ignite your interest. I have embarked on a journey to learn Spanish as an absolute beginner. However, I possess a strong determination to achieve fluency in this, my third language.

As a British Sign Language interpreter based in the UK, I find great joy in my work. I have a profound interest in linguistics, which encompasses language and culture. As my confidence continues to grow, I will progressively write more in Spanish. However, for the time being, I am expressing myself in my native language, English.

During your language journey, like me, you are likely to encounter plateaus from time to time. Many learners may feel stuck and frustrated with their perceived lack of progress. These plateaus can arise regardless of the duration of your language learning experience. To overcome these plateaus, it is highly beneficial to engage in extensive reading in a foreign language. Ensure to write, listen and speak the language too – every day! Seek out diverse topics that allow you to acquire vocabulary in context, aligning with your current proficiency level.

Barriers Are Not Accidental

A Deaf-Led View from the Interpreting Front Lines Let’s get one thing straight: as a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, I operate in that magical sweet spot where Deaf and hearing worlds are meant to shake hands politely and get on with the business of mutual understanding. That’s the theory, anyway. In practice, it’s more… Continue reading Barriers Are Not Accidental
